We’ve probably had one of the coldest Winters any of us can remember and it doesn’t look like the water is getting much warmer any time soon…

So if you dont have booties you might want to invest in a pair if your hitting the water within the next month!

There are so many different types & brands of booties to choose from…so where to start? From my experience you get what you pay for!

Back in Winter 08′ I upgraded from a cheap pair of Guls booties to a pair of O’Neill Heat 5mm and I noticed the difference straight away.

These boots are excellent; they don’t let the water in, have two straps and provide more stability when you pop up.

Cheap booties can be ok for starting out but they have their disadvantages…
they can fill with water easily and this reduces stability on the board and leaves you with icicles for feet in the Winter!
